Gig Harbor Hospital Honored Again For Patient Satisfaction
For the second consecutive year, St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor has received the Excellence through Insight Award for high patient satisfaction scores in its emergency department.
Additionally this year, the Franciscan Health System facility received the prestigious award for outstanding patient satisfaction scores in its intensive care unit.
The two awards, sponsored by HealthStream Research, were accepted by hospital Associate Administrator Kathy Bay, RN, at a May 5 conference in Nashville, Tenn.
"I am very proud of the entire team at St. Anthony that creates an experience that is second to none for our patients and their families," hospital President Carole Peet said.
To qualify for the Excellence Through Insight Award, hospitals must have been a patient satisfaction-tracking client of HealthStream Research in calendar year 2010, scored in the 75th percentile or higher, and surveyed at least 100 patients.
"We are honored to work with hospitals that are committed to providing excellent patient experiences," HealthStream President J. Edward Pearson said. "That is why we are delighted to recognize St. Anthony as a hospital at the top of its class for patient experiences."
The St. Anthony Hospital service area encompasses peninsula communities from Gig Harbor in Pierce County, north to Port Orchard in South Kitsap County. The 80-bed hospital opened in March 2009.
