Franciscan Receives Health Champion Award From Public Health Association
Franciscan Health System has been named a 2011 Health Champion by the Washington State Public Health Association.
In announcing the award, the association recognized Franciscan as a business that promotes a workplace environment and culture that focus on healthy behaviors and support the health of the workplace.
In March 2011, Franciscan became the first member of the Washington State Hospital Association to implement a nicotine-free hiring policy. Since 1992, Franciscan’s Tobacco-Free Support Group has helped several thousand men and women from throughout the South Sound region to stop smoking.
