Dennis deLeon MD Joins Franciscan Medical Staff Leadership
Dennis deLeon, MD, has joined the Franciscan Health System as vice president for medical affairs and associate chief medical officer.
A board-certified family physician, Dr. deLeon has served in several medical staff leadership roles, most recently at Glendale Adventist Medical Center in Glendale, Calif.; InVivo Health Partners in Tacoma; and Mary Bridge Children’s Health Alliance in Tacoma.
A graduate of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center at Memphis, Dr. deLeon completed his residency at Loma Linda University and a fellowship in clinical medical ethics at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He previously served on the Council on Ethical Affairs for the California Medical Association.
As a member of the senior leadership team at Franciscan, Dr. deLeon serves as the medical staff liaison for St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way and St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma. He also provides oversight for Medical Staff Services (including credentialing), the Department of Academic Affairs, and Physician Relations. He is also the liaison for Care and Utilization Management.
In addition to St. Joseph Medical Center and St. Francis Hospital, the Franciscan Health System includes St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor, St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood and St. Elizabeth Hospital in Enumclaw. The Franciscan medical staff includes approximately 1,500 physicians and professional providers.
