Hospital Volunteer Program
Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer. Below is information on the process for becoming a volunteer at St. Anthony Hospital, St. Clare Hospital, St. Elizabeth Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and St. Joseph Medical Center.
Complete the application
Please submit an on-line volunteer application.
Screening
Upon receipt of your application, you will be contacted within three business days to discuss your application.
Complete volunteer orientation packet
During the screening, we will review your application, your areas of interests, skills and talents and the current volunteer positions we have available. If we have a position available, we will mail you an orientation packet. Once you have received it, read all the required materials, complete the forms, gather immunization records and return them to the Volunteer Office either in person or by mail. We cannot consider you for placement until you have returned to the completed orientation packet to us.
Application verification
After you have submitted your completed orientation packet, we will review your forms, immunization and tb test records and perform a Washington State Patrol background check.
Department interview and placement
Upon confirmation of your orientation materials, we will schedule an interview between you and the department volunteer supervisor/mentor. This interview will determine if your interests and skills match the needs of the department. The Volunteer Coordinator will make a final decision regarding your placement. If approved, you will meet with Volunteer Services immediately following the interview to complete a customer service training, have a photo taken for your name badge, have a tb test and any necessary lab work, fill out any additional paperwork and purchase a volunteer uniform.
