Jayalakshmi “Jaya” Udayasankar, MD, is an endocrinologist with board-certification in both endocrinology and internal medicine. She specializes in treatment of patients with thyroid dysfunction, thyroid cancer, disorders of the pituitary and adrenal glands, calcium, bone disease, hypogonadism and metabolic syndrome. She is specifically interested in management of patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes mellitus including those on insulin pumps and glucose sensors.
Dr. Udayasankar strives to develop a plan of care that fits each patient’s lifestyle, educate and empower them to participate in their medical decision making and well being. She provides ongoing education and support to help patients stay well. She is a member of the American Medical Association, American Diabetes Association and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. Dr. Udayasankar is also fluent in Tamil and Telugu.
