Dr. Mercado is a board-certified internist specializing in adult medicine. His medical interests include diabetic education, hypertension, wound care and geriatric medicine. He believes that excellent patient care is achieved through effective communication and health education, and therefore encourages his patients to be partners and co-decision makers in their health care.
Dr. Mercado is an active member of the American Diabetes Association and fluent in English and Tagalog.
In his spare time he likes singing; playing guitar and piano; boating; and playing basketball, soccer, and golf. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, who is also a physician, and their son.
