New Single Bill for All Franciscan Activity
By June 2014, all Franciscan clinics and hospitals will have fully deployed our new electronic medical health record. This will ensure your health information is quickly and securely available online to you and your doctors. In addition, this new technology will help simplify our billing processes and make it easier to understand your statement.
Once the system is fully deployed and our legacy billing systems have been retired, patients will no longer receive separate bills for care received in our clinics, hospitals or other Franciscan services/facilities such as our day surgery centers, outpatient infusion, physical therapy, pharmacy, etc… Instead, patients will receive one bill that summarizes all the care received from Franciscan for the month. This includes clinic visits, hospital stays, outpatient surgery or other Franciscan services.*
This new system has already been deployed in our primary care clinics. In August 2013, 4 out of our 6 hospitals will go live, along with all hospital based services such as physical therapy, imaging and dialysis. All Franciscan specialty clinics will migrate to the new platform in the fall and winter. In May 2014, St. Elizabeth Hospital, Highline Medical Center and Highline clinics will move to the new system. In approximately 10 – 12 months, regardless of where you go in Franciscan, from West Seattle to Puyallup to Enumclaw to Port Orchard, you will receive one bill from us.
*As always, you may receive bills from non-Franciscan providers involved in your care such as anesthesiologists, emergency room physicians, PacLab services and radiologists.
Multiple bills possible until new system is complete and old balances settled
As we deploy the new system across our system over the next year, you will continue to receive multiple bills from Franciscan depending on the care you received and where that department is in the implementation process.
