Franciscan Medical Group welcomes Marlene Bednar, MD to Northwest Neurology. Board-certified in both neurology and neurophysiology, Dr. Bednar provides comprehensive general neurology care and she has special interests in stroke, epilepsy, headache, peripheral neurology, memory disorders, neurorehabilitation and Parkinson’s disease.
Before joining Northwest Neurology, she directed the neurology and clinical neurophysiology programs of the Olympic Medical Physicians, a division of Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles and Sequim, Wash. Dedicated to establishing productive, cooperative relationships with her patients, she strives to provide compassionate, quality care through education and advocacy.
Dr. Bednar earned her medical degrees from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Mexico, and New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y. She completed residencies in neurology at the Case Medical Center of the University Hospitals of Cleveland, Ohio, and in internal medicine and neurology at MetroHealth Medical Center, also in Cleveland.
Additionally, she completed Fellowships in electromyography and pain management at the Case Medical Center of the University Hospitals of Cleveland and in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology at The Cleveland Clinic. An expert in her field, Dr. Bednar is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Association of Electrodiagnostic and Neuromuscular Medicine, American Pain Society, the Washington State Neurological Society and the Washington State Medical Association.
Northwest Neurology, which has offices in Lakewood and Gig Harbor, is part of the Franciscan Medical Group network of clinics in Pierce, King and Kitsap counties. Franciscan Medical Group is affiliated with Franciscan Health System.
