Information about the Affordable Care Act
When the Affordable Care Act starts on January 1, 2014, everyone must have health insurance. If you’re one of the nearly 1 million uninsured in our state, you can now begin shopping for an insurance plan that fits your needs and budget – you may even qualify for low-cost or free insurance.
Open enrollment is now through March 31, 2014.
The Affordable Care Act was created to ensure everyone can get the healthcare they need regardless of their budget, even if they are sick or have a prior health issue.
Plans we participate in
There are several plans that cover the Franciscan and Highline network of physicians and services including Franciscan Medical Group, St. Anthony Hospital, St. Clare Hospital, St. Elizabeth Hospital, St. Francis Hospital, St. Joseph Medical Center and Highline Medical Center. Those plans are LifeWise, Premera, Community Health Plans of Washington (CHPW) and Group Health*.
Plans that cover Harrison Medical Center, including HealthPartners medical group, are LifeWise, Community Health Plans of Washington (CHPW), BridgeSpan Health and Group Health*.
* While we participate in Group Health’s plan, they generally try to serve enrollees through Group Health clinics, surgery centers and other services. So, if patients sign up with Group Health, depending upon where they live, their access to Franciscan services may be limited.
