As a new parent, you want the very best for your baby. For most mothers, the choice to breastfeed or bottle feed is very personal and can be influenced by a number of factors. No matter your choice, the consultants at Franciscan are here to ensure your baby is getting the right nutrition.
Research shows that breast milk is the “best first food”, costs nothing, aids in birth recovery, and nourishes babies and helps them avoid various illnesses and medical problems, many mothers don’t realize that breastfeeding is a learned skill and doesn’t always come naturally. We’re here to help! The team of registered nurses and educators at Franciscan Lactation Services are certified as International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants and provide in- and outpatient services to new families.

Inpatient services are available Monday through Saturday at St. Joseph Medical Center and Monday through Friday at St. Francis Hospital and St. Elizabeth Hospital.
