Haroon P. Anwar, MD is a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery. Trained in both laparoscopic and gastrointestinal surgical procedures, and in surgical critical care, Dr. Anwar is a former clinical instructor for surgery at the University of California-San Francisco. Prior to joining Franciscan, he founded the bariatric surgery program at Palo Alto Medical Clinic. Dr. Anwar’s philosophy is to partner with each of his patients to balance holistic (diet, exercise, yoga, etc.) and surgical solutions with the ultimate goal of living a full, active life. Dr. Anwar also serves as the medical director for the Franciscan Center for Weight Management.
