Franciscan Fracture Management Program
A fall that causes a broken bone can be a frightening experience, but our team of orthopedic experts is standing by to help you achieve your best - and quickest - possible recovery from this injury. The Franciscan Fracture Management Program is designed specifically for people who are hospitalized to receive treatment of a hip fracture or fracture of another lower extremity.
Our multi-disciplinary team includes board certified orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists (rehabilitation specialists), physical and occupational therapists, registered nurses, pharmacists and care managers. These compassionate professionals work together to design a treatment plan aimed at achieving the best possible outcome in your recovery - starting with admission to the hospital, through surgery and recovery, to your discharge from the hospital and post-operative rehabilitation. We also work closely with your family members and, if necessary, a local skilled nursing or inpatient rehabilitation facility, to ensure that your journey back to mobility continues after you leave our hospital.
The program features:
- experienced physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, social workers and care managers specializing in fracture treatment
- effective pain management
- emphasis on restoring pre-injury function
- education for you and your family members who serve as “coaches” in your recovery
