A regional center for dialysis, renal nutrition and education
St. Joseph Medical Center offers one of the largest, most sophisticated nephrology programs on the West Coast. St. Joseph Nephrology Services provides more than 50,000 treatments a year at its state-of-the-art dialysis centers in Tacoma, Puyallup and Gig Harbor, as well as through its Home Dialysis Program and acute inpatient dialysis services at St. Joseph Medical Center, Tacoma and St. Anthony Hospital, Gig Harbor.

Nephrology Services provides care to people with chronic kidney disease in stages three through five. Services provided include:

• Outpatient hemodialysis
• Renal nutrition consultation
• Home-dialysis training and support for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis
• Patient and community education

Emergency dialysis diet plan
The emergency diet prevents the buildup of waste products, potassium and fluid during an emergency when you are temporarily unable to go to dialysis. For more information, click here.
