For Our Patients
Cancer treatment is complex
If you, or someone you love, has been diagnosed with cancer, it is likely that you will need to see several types of cancer specialists. It is stressful and overwhelming to manage this soon after the cancer diagnosis, but all of these specialists are here to assure that you receive the best cancer care available for your individual situation.
Some cancer doctors manage your treatment plan and chemotherapy (medical oncologists), some perform surgery (specialty surgeons), others plan and deliver your radiation care (radiation oncologists), some check your cancer tissue samples from biopsy or surgery and determine the kind of cancer you have, along with the expected behavior of the cancer cells (pathologists) and other specialists perform procedures or assist in your care along the way.
