Mark Adams, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Mark Adams, MD, has been chief medical officer of the Franciscan Health System since March 2012.
He joined the organization in February 2010 and served as vice president for medical affairs and associate chief medical officer prior to being appointed chief medical officer.
Dr. Adams is a board-certified general and vascular surgeon. He is also a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Washington.
He received a degree in medicine from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a general surgery residency and vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Washington.
Dr. Adams serves on the boards of the Puget Sound Health Alliance and Cambia Health Solutions, which operates Regence Blue Shield, Oregon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Utah Blue Cross Blue Shield and Idaho Blue Shield. He is a past president of the Washington State Medical Association and formerly served on the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees.
Prior to joining the Franciscan organization, Dr. Adams held medical staff leadership positions at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, Wash.
