David C. Lawson, SPHR

David Lawson has served as senior vice president for human resources for the Franciscan Health System since June 2002.

Previously, he was vice president for human resources for PacMed Clinics in Seattle for more than 10 years. In all, he has nearly 30 years of leadership experience in human resources in health care and with organizations outside health care.

He is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University in Parkland, Wash., where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a focus on economics. He is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

Lawson is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management; the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration; and the Northwest Human Resources Management Association.

He is involved with numerous civic and local organizations, including serving on the boards of directors for the Mt. View Community Center in Edgewood; The Shanaman Sports Museum of Tacoma; and Step by Step, a charity that helps at-risk women view pregnancy as a catalyst for making positive changes in their lives.
