Peripheral vascular disease:
Are you or a loved one at risk?

Peripheral vascular disease Peripheral vascular disease (PVD) is a slow and progressive disorder of the circulatory system that affects men and women. This dangerous condition is often characterized by a narrowing of blood vessels that carry blood to the arm and leg muscles.

The risk for PVD can be reduced through smoking cessation, avoiding second-hand smoke, and stopping use of all tobacco products; reducing alcohol consumption; and reducing your body weight. Talk with your doctor.

The condition is also by medical experts at the St. Joseph Heart & Vascular Center.
